Chief Gall
Chief Gall,
one of the most aggressive leaders of the Sioux Nation in their last stand
for freedom, was considered by both Indians and whites to be a most
impressive type of physical manhood. A man with an amiable disposition, he
was quick to resent insult or injustice. It was Gall, with not a garment
upon his superb body, who on his black charger, led and dashed upon Reno’s
men on the Little Big Horn. Gall’s wife and young daughter were both
killed that morning.
...“Hold hard men! Steady, we
are not ready yet!
Wait for more guns, more horses, and the day is yours.”...Chief Gall.
